Te Aroha Centre : ウィキペディア英語版 | Te Aroha Centre
Te Aroha Centre is a community centre based in Te Aroha, New Zealand. The centre includes a fully equipped theatre, with rooms for crafts, seminars, meetings and an art gallery. The centre also hosts dance classes, children's acting classes and regular activities for the community. ==History== The Te Aroha Centre is built inside the former Bendon lingerie factory which housed 100 people sewing. Bendon agreed to sell the premises to Future Te Aroha, a charitable trust, for NZD$67,500. After much fund-raising and assistance from a bevy of institutions in and around Te Aroha, the sale was finalised. The Centre was officially opened by Judith Tizard on 23 November 2001, starting off a month-long Aroha (Māori for "love" or "esteem") festival which celebrated with a theme of "who we are". The theme for the building is "Aroha for ourselves, our family and our community". Te Aroha Centre tries to depict this through as many media as possible through the telling of stories. The venue is announced for bidding Miss World 2015, and will be announced 1st, 2nd or 3rd on December 5, 2014.
